Blending tool, distress inks, resist

Here is a layout I started some time ago, it still isnt finished but I wanted to show you a resist technique I used. Basically you stamp and emboss with clear embossing powder and then rub the blending tool over the embossed area with distress ink, a very cool technique!!! This has been done on the strips left hand side of the layout.

I must finish it otherwise it will become one of those UFP's (unfinished project)...

Blending tool resist [640x480] By the way, check out my nails!!!! I had them done yesterday. I have never had false nails put on mainly because I dont have the time and also was worried that I couldnt craft !!!

Well, I have to say it only took just over an hour to have them done, and I can craft!!!!

A friend of mine, Vikki, is a MOBILE beauty therapist. These nails are NOT Acrylic, they are a relatively new product on the market which uses no toxic chemicals, noxious fumes, filing damage or dust. I'm impressed!

If you want more info send Vikki an email, the price is also a bonus!! She lives in my local area, but will come to your home.

See you soon,

Naomi

Nearly forgot!

At 6am this morning I am laying in bed and remembered I havent created Brayden's Birthday invitations for his mates at school! Being the last day of school he had to take them with him as I dont know some of the mum's or addresses to post them to and his party is going to be in the school holidays.

6.30am I am creating his invites!!!! The kids heard me up and wondered what was going on!!! Thankgoodness for the 'Calendar' stamp, makes for a quick invite... Usually I would put a bit more thought into it but time didnt allow!!! Anyway, they turned out fine for a quick throw together...

I will make sure to create a SPECIAL Birthday card for him, as I always try to do...

Invitations 002 [640x480]Im glad you cant see too much of the mess I made!!!

Meeting Tim Holtz

With all the workshops in July using the Blending Tool and Distress Inks I thought I would post this photo taken at Winter CHA, 2008. Myself and Cheryl attended a Tim Holtz workshop, wow! this guy is so inspiring!!! in so many ways... He has been around in the industry for quite some time (I remember seeing his work many years back before I started scrapbooking). His workshop was upbeat, music, jokes and of course all the techniques that you learnt from him. We created a mirror... on this mirror were heaps of techniques we learnt in ONE 2hr workshop (It was a pretty FAST pace, and Im a quick worker!). We also caught up with him on the 'floor' at the CHA where he was doing demos during the day.

In his workshop he explained how alot of time and research goes into producing the products in the lab before they hit the retail market, this is obvious. The 'Ranger' products are very innovative and have so many possiblities. Fortunately Kaszazz have a great range of these products. If you havent booked into any July workshops yet, make sure you do, I will be showing you some of these techniques...

Signs of winter!

I have just picked up Brayden from school, he raced straight up to my studio to see what progress daddy has made today, on his way back to the house he picked me a daffodil... Just got to love him, such a sweet kid...

Daisy Daze Rollagraph

This is one of my favourite wheels in the smaller rollagraph designs. I rolled this using the colbalt ink cartridge which works really well with Bazzill Blue cardstock, of course I had to add a bit of Sticky Bling!

Some more Rollagraph

Here are a few cards I have made using the new "Its a Girl" and "Its a Boy" Jumbo Rollagraph. I have also used the SUPER Folk Heart and Folk Star punches, a few silver eyelets and Ballet Pink and Lullaby Blue embossing powders.

These cards have been designed to give as a congrats card and 1st Birthday card for boy or girl.
